Fantastic crowd at the opening of the exhibition at the Portland Public Library!
This Friday, May 6th, is the opening of a 2 month exhibition celebrating 25 years of the Peregrine Press, a 30 member printmaking cooperative located in the Bakery Studio Building on Pleasant Street in Portland, Maine. 30 current members and 19 former members are featured. (I have been a member since 2005)
A 70 page color catalog of the exhibition has been produced, including exhibition images, a history of the Press and essays by Bruce Brown, curator emeritus of the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and Aprile Gallant, Curator of Prints, Photographs and Drawings at Smith College Museum of Art.
