Steamy Summer Print Jam at Running with Scissors

We had a fantastic day printing up huge (4 foot by 8 foot) woodblocks using a steamroller as the press.  This was the 2nd annual steamroller print event…all of us at Peregrine Press look forward to doing it again next year!  Many thanks to Running with Scissors art studios for organizing and hosting.

Paintings of Portland book launch and MECA Collect 2018

I have a working waterfront painting in this new book by Carl Little and David Little!  Nearly half the book is an overview of Portland paintings from the past (think Stephen Etnier, Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer…good company!), the rest is contemporary works.  I’m so excited to be part of it.

Book launch and signing will take place at Greenhut Galleries, Thursday, June 14th from 5-7pm.  Books will be available in many bookstores beginning tomorrow as well.

Also coming up is the annual MECA Collect Sale which will take place June 28-30 at the Institute of Contemporary Art on Congress St.  I will have a Construction Zone print in the sale.  Thanks for stopping by my news page!

Working Waterfront commission for Verrill Dana law firm

The Verrill Dana law firm based here in Portland commissioned me to create two 36 x 48 inch paintings for their beautiful, newly renovated offices.  They were delivered this month and are hanging in the main 9th floor conference room in their offices at 1 Portland Square.

The paintings are loosely based on the Portland waterfront, with a couple of recognizable landmarks such as the Eimskip crane which dominates the western waterfront, and the Ocean Gateway Terminal building to the east.

It was great to work in a larger scale and I look forward to doing more!
